D.A.R.E.
AFTER-SCHOOL FREEDOM CHOIR
Even though the D.A.R.E. program has already been taught to the 7th grade students at Romney Middle
School.  The program is still a very visible and audible part of the school.  D.A.R.E. After-School Freedom
began practicing after school once per week at the beginning of January.  This group of high energy
students learn songs and choreography that reflect a positive message to their audience.  They will
perform short skits about the benefits of being drug, alcohol and tobacco free, while interjecting fun
and popular songs throughout the show.

The group is under the direction of Deputy Jamie Carter and RMS teacher Telena Seal.  The directors
believe that these 9 students act as role models for other students at RMS as well as the many
elementary students that they come into contact with.  It's the hope of the directors to be able to take
"Freedom" to a few schools in the county to show off their excitement about leading a drug free life.
