| Deputies Participate In County-Wide Drill |
On Saturday, March 8, 2007 the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office responded to Hampshire County School to
participate in a county-wide drill. The drill consisted of a reported explosion in the auditorium area of the school. At
the same time firefighters were entering the building, there was an "active shooter"/hostage situation in the lower
floor of the main building. Deputies responded to secure the school and eliminate the threat that was in the school.
Numerous county fire and EMS agencies assisted in the event. WV State Police also assisted.
