STABBING AT LOCAL BAR LEADS TO MAN'S ARREST

A Romney man was arrested in the early morning hours of May 3, 2008 after an altercation at the Stray Cat Cafe in
Romney. Deputy C.P. Carroll of the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office investigated the incident that reportedly took
place outside in front of the establishment. According to reports, Edward Arthur Lavigne of Romney got into an
altercation with a female patron of the Stray Cat and pursued her with a knife, cutting her seriously. The victim was
transported to Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD due to the severity of her injury.
Lavigne was arrested without incident and transported to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail to await arraignment.
