MALE ARRESTED IN DOMESTIC INVOLVING FIREARM
In the late afternoon hours of February 25, 2010 Deputies responded to a reported domestic
disturbance involving a firearm on Dillon's Run Road, near Capon Bridge.

Upon arrival, officers met with a female complainant identified as Faith Roomsburg.  She stated that
she and her live-in boyfriend were involved in physical altercation, including him threatening and
intimidating her with a gun.

Deputies entered the residence and found the male subject, identified as Fred Long, lying on the
couch in the basement.  Long refused to comply with any commands that were given by the officers,
becoming belligerent.  For the safety of everyone involved, a department issued taser was deployed
onto the subject to gain control and restrain him.  He was placed under arrest, while still being
non-compliant and resisting.

A loaded rifle was recovered from a location near the male subject.  Long was arrested and charged
with 3rd Offense Domestic Battery, Obstructing an Officer, and Unauthorized Person in Possession of
Firearm.  He was remanded to the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail to await arraignment.

Responding on the call were Sheriff Nathan Sions, Cpl. Brian Hinger, Deputy Steven Haines, Deputy
Dave Feather of the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office, and Tpr. Bowland of the WV State Police.
