BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING VEHICLE

A Capon Bridge man was arrested for burglary on Sunday after crashing his vehicle as he left the
scene of the crime. Christopher Roemer, age 20 was arrested by Deputies Davis and Smith along
South Fork Little Cacapon Road after he allegedly broke into a residence along Watson School
Road just prior to the crash.
At about 10:00pm, Deputies were responding to the Watson School Road residence for a reported
burglary. Prior to arriving on scene, the Hampshire County 911 Center received a call for a vehicle
accident on South Fork Little Cacapon Road. The vehicle involved in the accident matched a
description given by the victims of the burglary.
After brief questioning at the scene, Roemer admitted to breaking into the residence. Officers also
located an AR-15 assault rifle and two loaded magazines inside the suspects vehicle.
He was remanded to Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in lieu of $1,500 bond.
