STABBING SUSPECT APPREHENDED AFTER FLEEING
On May 6, 2012 at approximately 6:00pm, Deputy Shandon Watts and Investigator Mechelle Sabin
responded to Wapacoma Trailer Court, near Romney, for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival deputies made contact with the male victim and learned that he had been stabbed in the
upper leg.  The wound was bleeding heavily, but the victim refused EMS and was later transported to
the hospital by personal car, where he was treated and released.

The victim reported that the stabbing occurred as a result of an ongoing dispute between him and the
suspect, Kenny K. Skipper, age 43 of Romney.  Skipper had fled the scene prior to the arrival of
officers.

Additional members of the Sheriff's Office, members of the WV State Police and Romney Police
Department responded to the scene to assist in locating the suspect.  A State Police K-9 was called to
assist with the search.  The suspect was not apprehended at that time, and it was believed he
received a ride from the area prior to officer arrival.

At approximately 10:30pm, Sheriff Sions made contact with a suspect vehicle and learned that Skipper
had just been dropped off at a location near Whisper Valley Road, and was hiding in that area.
Deputies Carroll and Kesner got into the suspect vehicle and the male driver took them to where
Skipper was located.  He was located near a barn along Rt. 28, near Whisper Valley Road.

Skipper was taken into custody without incident and charged with malicious wounding.  He was
remanded to Potomac Highlands Regional Jail to await arraignment.
