YOUTH GROUP PRESENTED WITH INTERNET SAFETY & ALCOHOL DANGERS
Nearly 30 area youth were in attendance at the Tearcoat Church of the Brethren on Friday night for a youth event sponsored by the church. Deputy Wes Frame & Cpl. Jamie Carter presented a 60 minute presentation to the youth about the dangers and harmful effects of alcohol and internet safety.
Deputy Frame presented many examples about how to safely navigate the internet without falling prey to the many internet predators that are there.
Cpl. Carter presented the dangers and effects of alcohol. Cpl. Carter had the youth group attempt to perform many activities with the "Fatal Vision" goggles. These goggles give the wearer a felling of intoxication, and hinders many "normal" activities, like walking a straight line or catching a ball.
These deputies were very impressed with the attentiveness and participation by the youth group. If you would like a presentation for your youth or civic organization, please contact the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office at information@hampshirecountysheriffwv.com or 304-822-3894.
