Deputy Reserve Program

"Volunteering To Serve Their Community"

About the program

The Deputy Reserve Program consists of volunteers from all around Hampshire County who work in conjunction with the deputies to provide a safer and better place to live for the citizens of our county.

The Deputy Reserves enhance the force at public functions, such as football games, the Hampshire County Fair, and many others too numerous to mention. Deputy Reserves often accompany full time deputies on their scheduled patrols, and assist where needed.

The Reserve Coordinator is Lt. Jamie Carter. Lt. Carter has been a full time deputy with the Sheriff's Office since April 2004. He graduated from the WV State Police Academy in April 2005. Before beginning full time employment with the Sheriff's Office, Lt. Carter was a charter member of the Deputy Reserve Program.

"if our hopes of building a better and safer world are to become more than wishful thinking, we will need the engagement of volunteers more than ever."

-- Kofi Annan --
