K-9 Division

The Hampshire County Sheriff's Office K-9 Division is comprised of three full
time deputies.

Rocket is certified in narcotics detection, tracking and apprehension.
Sgt. Launi has received extensive training in the above areas and frequently
attend continuing education courses to keep his skills sharpened.

Ogin is certified in narcotics detection. Her handler is Cpl. Jamie Carter.
During the school year, Ogin spends 3 days a week working in all Hampshire
County Schools with Cpl. Carter as part of the D.A.R.E. Program.

Rusty is certified in narcotics detection. His handler is Cpl. Greg Kesner.
Rusty is full time at Hampshire High School with Cpl. Kesner as part of the
Prevention Resource Officer Program.

The Sheriff's Office K-9 Division frequently responds to assist other agencies
in neighboring counties as well as city and state officers in Hampshire
County. This service is made available 7 days a week.

Sergeant Norman Launi II & "Rocket"

Sergeant Norman Launi II graduated from the WV State Police Academy in
September of 2003. He joined the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office in the
Summer of 2002.

Cpl. Jamie Carter & "Ogin"

Cpl. Jamie Carter graduated from the WV State Police Academy in April of
2005. He joined the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office in April of 2004.

Cpl. Carter works in 8 different schools throughout Hampshire County,
teaching the D.A.R.E. Program. "Ogin" accompanies Cpl. Carter during the
performance of these duties.

Cpl. Greg Kesner & "Rusty"

Cpl. Greg Kesner graduated from the WV State Police Academy in
December of 1994. He joined the Hampshire County Sheriff's Office in July
2000.

Cpl. Kesner is stationed at Hampshire High School as the Prevention
Resource Officer. "Rusty" accompanies Cpl. Kesner in his job duties at the
school.
